Introducing Eva. She’s a gorgeous model and burlesque dancer here in San Diego.

We originally met at the face of Temptress Fashion event over in Ocean Beach. I know I pimp their store a lot but i’ve met so many interesting people there. Also, the clothes they sell make for some absolutely great photos.

Back to Eva. I didn’t coordinate the shoot like a usually do. I do that through Model Mayhem. In fact both my last shoots have been coordinated solely through facebook.

In my opinion this is a superior method of coordinating. Model Mayhem has always gave me some serious heartburn. Most people only check their accounts every few days. This makes communication unreliable and sporadic. Its also anonymous. Anyone can make a profile. This is not safe for the model and photographer alike. What burns me up the new models. You seriously want to try and charge people when your portfolio looks like it was taken by pervo photographers and an Iphone? Idiots!

If you’re a photographers who’s giving these models money do everyone a favor and stop. Ok, i’ll get off my soapbox now, promise!

Back to Eva. Sorry to say ladies and gentleman she is taken! I’ll give you a second to digest this terrible news.

Have you all ever heard of burlesque dancing? Well thats what Eva does. I got the privilege of watching her dance at the Temptress event.

Eva and some of her fellow models are excellent dancers. Before you get dirty minded its not stripping. Although the dances they do have some erotic overtones its still classy.

Eva dances for the Drop Dead Dames Burlesque Revue. They have a host of lovely ladies that dance for them. If i’m lucky you’ll see them here at Oni Studio. Check out Eva dancing at one of their events.

I’ll leave you with one of those odd moments that sometimes happen on a shoot. While we were in the parking lot a guy pulled up who knew Eva. He was carrying a pie and I asked him to present it to her. I gave no further instructions, and this is what happened. I was laughing my ass off but managed to get a decent shot.

She closed the door to her cabin. The ship lazily rocked back and forth.

Her outfit for the evening lay out on the chair. For now she decided to lounge about in her underwear.

She made a Bloody Mary and turned on the old tube radio. A new band calling itself “Pink Floyd” softly entered the atmosphere.

She finished the drink and opened a silver cigarette case. She put one in her mouth and two hits of blotter underneath her tongue.

She’d need the effect of the blotter for her mission. She hoped Lucifer Sam would be playing then too.

She began to carefully apply her make up. No one must know, no one must suspect.

She was a highly trained operative in her majesties Secret Intelligence Service, or MI6 for short. She had a very special mission. Assassinate Lao She, a Shanghai crime lord and steal a talisman sacred to a book called the Necronomicon. Her name was Dr. Tittyana Jones.

She had never heard about the book and couldn’t care less about the talisman. But orders were orders.  She finished getting dressed. The first tinglings of the blotter began to creep on the edges of her consciousness.

She walked out of her room and toward the ships ballroom. Along the way she passed her silent partner, “short round”. He was a boy she had saved from starvation in Hong Kong. She entered the ballroom, spotted Lao and sat down.

Lao’s face swam, the blotter was in full effect. “Hello Dr. Jones, did you bring the idol Nurhachi?” Not only did she have the small statue, but she had inserted a small explosive charge inside of it. She placed the statue on the table. Lao picked it up and marveled at its beauty. “The talisman Lao, give it to me.” He placed a black box on the table. She opened it up.

The talisman lay inside, shining silver. It seemed to glow. She reached down to pick it up, fingers grasping the metal. An electric shock. Visions. Red sky cracking in half. A tentacle rising from the depth. An inhuman voice chanting….Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn. The whisperer in darkness had returned. She didn’t know if it was real or the effect of the blotter. A sweat had broken out on her for-head and she began to feel sick.

She looked up. Lao and his man were laughing at her. He was holding up a vial of blue liquid. “Whats that?” She asked. “Poison for the antidote you just drank Dr. Jones! Return the talisman and i’ll give it to you.” Instead of giving up the talisman she stuck a knife in the nearest of his guards. The commotion knocked the antidote out of his hands and she raced to retrieve it. Gunfire erupted and the club became pandemonium. At last she jumped out the window and fell down three floors onto a canopy and bounced into her car drove by short round. They quickly sped off towards the airport, talisman in hand.

After high speed chases and a shoot out they arrived. Boarding the plane she turned around to see Lao exit his car. The blotter had twisted her face half mad. She smiled at him and shut the door. The plane took off, next stop, Calcutta.

She had came off the blotter during the ride, sleep overtook her and short round both. Unknown to her the pilots were in the employ of Lao She. They had been waiting for this opportunity and took the only two parachutes along with emptying the fuel tanks. They jumped from the plane and left them to their fate.

She woke up in a start. Something was wrong. The pilot cabin was open and no one was inside. She immediately knew what had happened, it looks like Lao She was going to have the last word after all…or would he?

If Jessica seems familiar to you, thats because i’ve shot with her before. She came booked by Janeiro, who runs a model agency here in San Diego.

Like many models Jessica is way into fitness. We had spoke at length about doing a fitness shoot. The only problem was trying to sneak into the gym with cameras.

The only problem was that I hadn’t done a fitness shoot in about five years. In fact the only fitness shoot I had ever done is back when I was still married with a now semi-famous model named Jen.

Even then I only took one or two shots. My ex, who was and is still an amazing photographer took most of the shots. I was mainly only involved in the edit process.

I puzzled over what type of lighting to use with the shoot. The gym we were going to use was quite small so it limited my choices. We used a medium Paul C. Buff soft box in the last shoot. So I automatically dismissed using it this time.  I wanted to do something a bit different.

I’ve been shooting a lot of moody lit portraits lately, and I finally decided to shoot this in a similar manner. I picked out a small photoflex half dome and set out to see what could be done.

I attached the halfdome to my trusty alienbee B800 and powered by my Vagabond Mini Lithium I was ready for war.

Unfortunately when we arrived to the small gym it was packed. You ever watch one of those old western movies? Ya know when a guy walks in a bar and conversation stops, the piano player quits playing and everyone stares? Ya that’s how this was. Awkward.

In the end I liked how the shoot came out. I got some great ideas on how i’d like to shoot one of these types of shoots in the future. If you’re into fitness and interested in shooting with me send me a note!

A man in a funny hat came running on the bus. He was screaming at the top of his lungs and people were moving fast. “Get your fucking asses out on my yellow foot prints, MOVE BITCHES!!”

She regretted her decision to make this move. She wondered not for the first time, if maybe operating a meth lab in Mississippi wasn’t the better career choice. At least when she was doing that no one was screaming.

Of course a Mississippi meth lab dealer had a terrible retirement plan. Maybe this Marine Corps thing would get better. She ran out of the bus and stood on the yellow foot prints. It seemed the man in the funny hat had brought friends. Their was so much yelling, and no one seemed to do anything right.

They finally were ushered into a barracks and were allowed to sleep. It seemed like she was asleep for fifteen minutes when the man in the funny hat came in screaming and beating a trash can. “Wake up bitches!!” The man noticed her. Fuck. “Well what do we have here?! Where you from private?” “Sir the private is from Mississippi sir!” The man just stared, then punched her straight in the boobs. She collapsed on the floor. Apparently the man didn’t like people from Mississippi.

13 weeks later she had graduated. It had been tough and she had received orders to a run of the mill administrative unit based in Santa Carla, CA.

Wait a minute, she read her orders again. Santa Carla?! She had never been out of Mississippi, and now Santa Carla? Wait a minute, where the hell is Santa Carla anyway? California. She boarded the plane and four hours later she was in Santa Carla, taking a cab to base. She passed a “welcome to Santa Carla” sign, and ominously spray painted on the back, “Santa Carla, murder capitol of the world”. Ya, this was gonna be interesting.

The people in her unit were pretty nice, but very odd. They were all into vampire comics. They insisted she read them. Even more weird, they insisted these comics would “save her life” here in Santa Carla. Since she wanted to fit in she took a look at them. Pretty gory stuff, and this is for nerds. She was more interested in becoming an NPC bikini competitor, not a comic book collecting nerd.

The weekend finally came. Luckily she didn’t have to work, so she went down to the boardwalk. Their were people everywhere, mostly seeing a band that had some muscly steroid guy playing a saxophone.  She saw a group of people riding bikes similar to hers.  The leader of the group David, asked her to race them on the beach. He was dressed in black leather and looked like Kiefer Sutherland. Yes, this was gonna be fun.

The race was on. It was dark, the sand kicked up in her eyes. The race ended, they came to a stop at the mouth of a huge cave. Apparently it was their hang out. It was odd, and they were probably serial killers, but she didn’t have anything else going on that night, so why not!  Everyone was drinking from a huge old jeweled bottle that looked like it contained red wine.

The bottle was passed around. It finally got to her and everyone got quite. One of the girls looked at her pleadingly. Don’t drink it Lyla…its blood. She laughed…then took a long drink.

Enter Stormie Psy. How did I meet her? Model Mayhem I believe. Stormie is one of my favorite type of models, and people.

What makes her so special? Well she’s into the darker side of life. She exudes dark energy, and loves metal. Most importantly, hates Marilyn Monroe. Since I too hate Marilyn Monroe I knew we were gonna get along famously.

Before you get to impressed though, Stormie admits she in no way finds Dave Mustaine from Megadeth presently attractive. However, she did admit that back in the 80′s she would have had his love child.

So what else can I say about Stormie? Unfortunately not much. Well not much that I can divulge if I want to be alive.

True, she told me some earth shattering secrets about herself. Is she really employed with the CIA? Was she involved with the Kennedy assassination? Does she endorse Charmin brand toilet paper? Unfortunately my lips are sealed on these and other matters.

So here’s the unclassified info on Stormie.  She was born in a small town in Upstate New York. Her parents were Portuguese and Italian. After a brief hitch in the French foreign legion she moved out to California. California is rough even for the toughest people, and Stormie had a hard time adjusting. She became a homeless drifter for awhile before being discovered by Anton Lavey, then head of the Church of Satan.

The Church of Satan trained her in silent killing techniques and deployed her to South America to take out christian missionaries. She was one of the most successful operators in the churches history.

I don’t know if I should have divulged that last part.

On a serious note, if you are a photographer in the southern California area you need to shoot with Stormie. She’s comfortable in her own skin, funny, and knows how to work her curves in an extremely tantalizing way. Awhile back I had a shoot with a girl named Michele Monique. She came in wearing a dress that was beyond stunning. “Hey where in the bloody hell did you get that dress?!” I asked. “I got it at Temptress Fashions you silly goat fucker!” she replied eloquently. We wrapped up the shoot and I immediately set out to find Temptress Fashions on facebook. Turns out they were about 9 miles down the road from me here in San Diego.  I saw on their page they were having a contest and I promptly entered Micheles images in for the drawing. Holy shit, would you believe we actually won a $100.00 gift certificate? Michele promptly went down, got some more sexy outfits and came over for another shoot. While she was here she told me about the Face of Temptress fashion pageant. She needed a video intro, which we made and submitted it. Once again, she was accepted to the pageant, and to my astonishment, I got an invite to shoot the entire event!

The event was being held at Winstons Beach club. I showed up an hour early with my Nikon and Alienbees gear to get my lighting squared away. The band had already arrived and was getting a sound check.

Whoever did the decorating did a freakin fantastic job. The VIP tables had Temptress models of Christmas past adorning the tables.

It wasn’t long before some of the most beautiful girls in San Diego started showing up. Everyone was nice, and the place had a very warm and accepting atmosphere.

I don’t know all the of names of the models, but the ones I did know in attendance were: Melanie Monsters, Eva Garnet, Kiki Carnevale, Darrce Grace, and a whole bunch more whose names I haven’t learned yet. Hopefully you’ll see them soon here at Oni Studio!

The models competed in many categories,  including a talent show that had one of the most inspiring dance routines i’ve seen in a bit.

In the end though, just like Highlander, their can be only one.  The girls lined up in anticipation and even I was holding my breathe.

She got home and closed the door behind her. Slide the bolt home, lock. She rested her head against the door. Breathe, just breathe. The craving was back and she wasn’t sure she’d win this time.

The craving had been met for awhile by a homeless man she had picked up awhile back. His bones were still in the hallway closet. She’d have to clean before she brought anyone else back.

It was just another thing to add to the list of her worries. Even for a 200 year old vampire serial killer, San Diego was a tough city to live in. Her bills were piling up, her apartment too small. Her employment situation was the worst of all.

She sat down in her livingroom, she had no TV. She wasn’t even sure she wanted one.  It was 2 hours until sundown. In life her favorite thing to do was watch the sunset. She couldn’t even do that now. She could still surf though, even if it was at night. She didn’t have to worry about drowning or sharks.

The sun set, she grabbed her board, walked out, started her car and drove out. 5 minutes later she was parked and walking toward the beach.

She passed a group of guys on the way who stopped to admire her lingerie like beach outfit. They didn’t stand a chance, she only dated guys who were over 6 feet and had dark hair. She did contemplate killing them though.

The ocean was nice and cool. She sensed no predators in the water besides herself. Her eyes detected a small campfire off in the distance.

This was a weekday. What were people doing out on the beach when they should be at home sleeping in lingerie? People had no value or morals anymore! She would kill them all and use their bodily fluids in her bloody Mary mix.

She got out of the surf, she was close enough to smell them. Bunny rabbits every last one of them. She felt her fangs come in, her finger nails became talons.

It looked like a college party. She charged out impossibly fast. She talons opened them up like red water balloons. All of them screamed and ran, none were fast enough.

She finished, all were dead. She was covered in blood, panting, out of breathe. The fire casting shadows, crackling, and the steady calming noise of the surf. “You’re so beautiful”, she gasped and turned around. She had missed one in all the confusion. He was really good looking, had no fear, and was actually walking toward her. Strange, peculiar. “Please allow me to introduce myself, Louis Cypher, and you just killed my ride home” She actually blushed, “i’m sorry, if you don’t mind i’ll give you a ride home, just give me a minute to wash up, i must look a fright”  Freshly bathed from the ocean she walked back up to where he was waiting. Their seemed something dark and magickal about him, and maybe everything was going to turn out alright after all.

Introducing Melanie. She and I originally met online and quickly scheduled a Pinup type shoot.

Now I know that pinup images are very popular, but I rarely do them. They are usually very production heavy; involving multiple parties and expensive props.

These other parties consist of make up artist, prop masters, hair stylist, ect. Very few people work for free these days, and scheduling is a nightmare.

Melanie, who is a Marilyn Monroe impersonator here in San Diego was a bit different. She assured me that she was able to do her own hair and make up, and loved to shoot. She didn’t shoot for money either, but to make art. This was a breathe of fresh air!

Melanie wasn’t kidding about being able to do her own hair and make up. She showed up exactly as you see here and required very little editing. She was also a pleasure to shoot with. If your a photographer in the San Diego area you should definitely set up a shoot with her!

Unfortunately she isn’t on Model Mayhem at this present time, but she plans on getting an account soon.  I think we can all agree that she needs to get one!

Now this may come as a surprise, but do you know Melanie is 37% Chinese descent? Yes, I never would have guessed either. She is able to alter her appearance so drastically through the use of make up that its very hard to detect. Why is she not teaching make up skills? I have no clue.

When Melanie isn’t modeling she designs unique heels and plans on setting up shop on Etsy. She also makes radio appearances and levitates coffee cups.

You all may remember Michele, she was the burlesque model who assaulted the infirm and elderly with lethal high heels.

What you may not know is that Michele and I submitted photos from the last shoot to a contest hosted by Temptress Fashion. Temptress Fashion is an awesome clothing boutique here in San Diego. They specialize in alternative, pinup, burlesque and working with the CIA to assassinate foreign dignitaries. One day I woke up, took a shower and then glanced at my phone. Their were about 7 notifications, this was unusual. I checked and lo and behold, Michele and I had won a $100.00 gift certificate! See, thats how awesome Temptress Fashion is to their customers!

After Michele picked up the gift certificate and redeemed it for a dress and a sexy corset at Temptress Fashion she called me up to schedule a shoot.

She said their was a problem though. Michele had recently been transferred to the old Detroit field office of NCIS and was chasing the cop killer and bank robber Clarence  Boddiker.

She and her partner had chased Clarence to an old factory and split up. However she was outsmarted and Clarence and his buddies had shot her to shit. She was being transported to the hospital where her employer Omni Consumer Products (OCP) had rebuilt her into a crime fighting super model.

She was programmed with three prime directives. 1. Serve the public trust. 2. Protect the innocent. 3. Uphold the law 4. CLASSIFIED

Before she went out on the road one of the OCP executives came up to her and said, “YOU ARE GONNA BE A BAD MOTHER FUCKER”.  Michele agreed, she loved to fuck peoples mothers.

Michele sent out to fight crime and get revenge on the people that shot her. One by one they all went down, Emil, Leon, until only Clarence was left. Ya see, their was a cancer in old Detroit. That cancer was crime, and Michele was the cure.

What Michele didn’t know is that Oni Studio and the CEO of Omni Consumer Products was in league with Clarence Boddiker.

When she found out she came to kill us. The only thing that saved us was directive 4, which results in immediate super model shut down in the event of an attempted murder/arrest of an Oni Studio executive.

This glamour blog edition has nothing to do with the model. Well to be truthful very few of my entries have much to do with the model as I like to make up ridiculous stories. It’s more entertaining that way.

What I wanted to write about was a very curious phenomenon that I became afflicted with shortly after the shoot. I shot with Ashley; she was amazing to shoot with by the way. She complained at first that many photographers just seemed to want to center around her sexuality.

Now I can understand this, because as you can plainly see she is amazingly sexy. After she left I sat to work editing the photos and was soon done. Now after I get through editing I open up a word program and start scratching out a rough draft of the glamour entry. However, try as I might I couldn’t think of one thing to write. I’d eek out a few sentences, only to erase it all in disgust.

I must have written five or six different entries, and erased them all. Now during this time I started to lose more and more interest in about everything. I put my camera up, stopped visiting my website, stopped searching for models and barely checked my Facebook.

Before I came here to San Diego I lived in Greece. During that time I discovered P90X, and started working out every day. I continued that workout regimen here in San Diego, working out around six days a week. The reason I bring this up is that in addition to withdrawing from people I also stopped working out. I just couldn’t motivate myself to get up and do it.

I was getting worried because this isn’t normal for me. I began researching ways to help myself out of this slump. Mostly I was concerned about gaining weight and getting out of shape. I’m a single guy and it’s hard to attract girls when your stomach exits the door before you do.

So I feel like some kind of diseased alcoholic, trying to reprogram my psyche. I did what any normal person would do, order mood pills from Amazon.  Has it worked yet? I still have no idea, but I have started going back to Model Mayhem trying to schedule shoots and I spend a lot of time thinking about working out.

Anyway, I think thats enough whining and bitching on my part.
